Our sweet Timothy received our Lord for the first time on Mother's Day. I wish I had a picture to share, but it will have to come later. I looked high and low for the digital camera on First Holy Communion Sunday morning to no avail. I had to resort to using the traditional 35mm camera. The film is waiting to be developed. On the way home, I was rooting around my purse only to discover our digital camera. Oh well. I guess our scanner will be put to work after the film is developed.
Timothy's day was very special - a perfect way to celebrate Mother's day, too! Our memories of the day will surely include our departure that morning. The weather had caused severe flooding in many areas in our state. Our street was not spared. As we drove down our road, we quickly realized that it was closed to all traffic. It looked just like this:

So what did we do? We turned around and drove up the snowmobile trail. How thankful were we that our minivan has 4wd! We made it to mass in the nick of time with not a moment to spare. Whew!
Our return home was considerably less eventful as the dam, which caused the flooding, must have been repaired while we were celebrating. A blessing as we were not looking forward to driving back down the narrow snowmobile trail.
I look forward to more opportunites to blog in June. No excuses. No slacking off.

No excuses necessary! These mom blogs should be no pressure--if they weren't, I'd give mine up now! You were missed though!
Happy First Holy Communion to Timothy!
Kristina we ALL have those times. And end of the school year is a common time for overload with end-of-year assessments, tests, or portfolios, first communions and confirmations, graduations, gardening, spring cleaning... Something's gotta give, right?!? Better it be your blog than your real life!

Kristina, those rains were something weren't they? I'm glad your travel was safe and your son's special day went on as planned. :)
