rainy day storyhour

I think it is time we invest in our own copy of Mr. Seahorse by Eric Carle. We borrowed it from the library a few weeks ago. Elaina presents it to Daddy for her own private storytime early every morning before he leaves for work. (Big brothers are sleepyheads in the morning!). It was placed in the bag to return, yet when we arrived at the library, our little ones begged to borrow it once again.

Yesterday was a perfectly rainy Saturday. For certain, a most appropriate time for a story. As Elaina approached Daddy with Mr. Seahorse yet again, I caught Daddy's gaze. His eyes had a pleading "must I read this one more time? I think I could recite it by heart look!" Julian swooped in for his rescue with "Oh, let me read to Elaina!" She promptly snuggled up and the story began. Like Daddy, Julian is an entertaining storyteller, giving each character it's own voice. (my favorite is Mr. Tilapia..) Upon hearing Julian's most animated read aloud, the cozy corner of the couch was full of brothers eager to listen as well.

That is so sweet! I love how they are all gathered around and how J is reading with such animation! Fabulous!
