Don't throw tomatoes, but I never read any of the Little House books as a child. Why would I? It was on tv, why bother..? Before you let out your gasp, I can assure you that the grown up me has done a 180*.
Now, that would be the precise reason we have not watched Narnia.. we haven't read the books together yet. Daddy even played by my little rule and read all of the Tolkien books before he watched the movies.
I sort of put off the Little House books, thinking that they might be too girly for our four boys, yet on the second chapter of our journey into the Big Woods this morning, Maximilian dispelled that concern by exclaiming "Mom, I know why I like listening to this story so much, they keep mentioning meat!"
Don't bother this child with pasta or rice, where's the beef?

Too funny. I just finished "Little House in the Big Woods" last night with my ds age 6. I wasn't sure he would like it..I think all the talk about bears and shooting helped us! LOL! Great blog.
Thanks, mb!
Maximilian is our "meaty boy." lol!
Just wait until you get to "Farmer Boy" he'll be drooling. I was. My boys loved it!
