Yesterday was our Lenten Tea. I had shopped for the ingredients the previous evening and planned to have a day to prepare. However, we were blessed that dear homeschooling friends of our were able to join us yesterday. Preparations were done quickly by both Mommies as the children were anxious to eat. So anxious that they began eating the 30 pieces of silver before we could explain how the tea would go. I read from the children's New American Bible (in the Veggie Tales biblecover). Elaina really needed her nap, but she did not want to miss out. Shortly after this picture was taken Elaina would not leave my lap so the other Mommy read the rest of the scriptures. The children were excited to recognize readings they had heard recently at Holy mass and their Religious Ed. classes.
A splendid time was had by all and we agreed that we will do it again next year. Ambitiously, I gathered ingredients for a Second Lenten Tea during that same trip to the market. I hope to do that with our children tomorrow. I am so grateful for Alice's creativity and generosity for sharing the details of this special Lenten activity. God Bless Her!
I plan to focus on the Triduum and will be offline after this morning until Easter. Easter Blessings to All!

Kristina, I am so excited to read this post and see all those incredible children gathered for a Lenten Tea!!! I can't wait to show this to my girls in the morning! Many thanks for all your kind words.
A round of applause to you and Alice, Kristina. We didn't get to do the Lenten and Easter Teas this year, but it inspires me to see others taking the teacups in hand and doing them. I have hopes for doing them next year. Bravo!
