color coordinated kids

I know, I am goofy with my blog colors. I am not there yet with figuring out a fun banner... My blog itself is a bit dark, but those colors are pretty dominant in our home. Our kitchen is dark blue. My husband surprised me with that color when he painted the interior of our home before we moved in.

So to bring some color to the blog, I type our children's names in their colors. Julian has always had a fondness for the citrus colors. When his first little brother was old enough to play, he assigned him a favorite color. I am not even kidding. Of course we told him that Timothy could choose his own color, but he was content to claim his assigned color as his own.

When Maximilian arrived on the scene, he was assigned red. He embraced it as nicely as his brother.

Pier-Jerome, likewise, knows that all things blue relate to him.

Upon Elaina's arrival, the boys determined that all things pink or purple belong to her. At least she has two colors to choose from!

These admittedly absurd color assignments are so severe that when Timothy received a red truck for his fourth birthday, he exclaimed "look, Maximilian, you got a red truck! This one's for you." Pity the gift giver who gets the color wrong!

Wardrobes became color assigned, which does not work so well for hand-me-downs to a different color brother... Of course the sippy cups, flatware, melamime dinnerware all came in their colors. School notebooks, pencils, storage bins, oh the list can go on and on.

As for me.. I used to like black and white together prior to having a family. But in hindsight.. it was really boring now that my life is filled with color.

FWIW, I think your blog looks really nice! I am fond of the deeper colors.
